About Margil House of Studies
The Margil House of Studies is a 5013c non-profit established by the
late Mary Nell Davis and its headquarters are in Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Davis was a fourth generation Texan who spent the later part of her life working tirelessly to promote Fr. Margil and to spread his message. She died on the anniversary of Fr. Margil’s death on August 6, 2008. The Margil House of Studies has recently been reinstated under the direction of Andrew B. Linbeck, great nephew and Godson of Mrs. Davis, and Elizabeth Martinez is the current Executive Director.
The mission of the Margil House of Studies to promote the extraordinary life of Venerable Father Antonio Margil de Jesus and to help advance his cause for canonization, so that one day soon he may be officially called a saint and recognized as, “The Saint of Texas.” The Margil House of Studies is pleased to partner with historians, archaeologists and local and church officials in efforts to further the works and life of Fr. Margil. Additionally, the Margil House of Studies has been named as a collaborator with the postulator for the cause of canonization in Zacatecas, Mexico.
